Workshop Description:

This workshop is a basic introduction to vocal technique, as well as learning how to use technique to discover new qualities in your voice. This workshop will review basic anatomy, registers and breathing and will explain belting and mixed voice by giving exercises and tools to use in practice. Lastly, voice problems such as hoarseness and vocal fatigue, as well as lifestyle practices will be discussed to promote the health of the vocal muscles.

Singing for life may seem like a simple concept but in reality there can be mental, physical and logistical obstacles that make “singing for life” a challenge. Along with a review of basic voice production and vocal health, this workshop is about exploring the idea of creating a healthy voice that will last your entire life. We will have an open honest discussion about how our voices change with age and learn tips and exercises that will allow us to stay healthy and feel good about our voices.
